As I look to supplement my understanding of product ownership I have found a set of resources to be very helpful. The collection of blogs and newsletters listed below are primary sources I use for topics such as product management and user experience where I do not have as much experience as I do in business analysis.
The list below is certainly not exhaustive, but it includes the blogs and newsletters that are updated on a regular basis and always provide excellent content.
Tyner Blain
Scott Sehlhorst @sehlhorst
Product Management blog that has loads of great posts covering the analysis aspects of Product ownership as well as those items related to product management. You may want to check out his Foundation Series posts for some great background information.
The IT Risk Manager

Chris Matts @papachrismatts
If you want to know about ideas everyone will be talking about in 2 – 3 years, read Chris’ blog today. He is great at extracting deep insights from his very practical experiences. He embodies the first line of the Agile Manifesto “Learning better ways to [deliver value] by doing it.” His wicked sense of humor doesn’t hurt either.
Under10Consulting

Steve Johnson @sjohnson717
Steve looks at things from a Product Management perspective (he worked with Pragmatic Marketing for several years). He pointed out in a recent webinar that Product Managers have been reduced to focusing on product and have lost sight of business, market, promotion, sales, and support. I think what he describes as design & delivering the product is a good description of what I think of as product ownership.
Product Bytes
Rich Mironov @RichMironov
Rich has been a product manager for several years in silicon valley and shares his thoughts about product management and product ownership quite frequently. He wrote the Art of Product Management based on his earlier blog entries.
Quietstars Agile and Lean UX Newsletter
Adrian Howard @adrianh and Kathryn Leach
This is an approximately bi monthly email newsletter with curated content about Agile and Lean UX. This newsletter provides great pointers to good information about the UX side of things.
Farnham Street Blog
http://www.farnamstreetblog.com/newsletter/
Shane Parrish @farnamstreet
This is both a blog and a newsletter that doesn’t address product development or projects specifically, but it talks about all of those skills necessary to be truly effective at product ownership such as decision making, psychology, philosophy and a little bit of history and science mixed in.
