On October 1, 2012, I’m speaking at the Agile Testing & BDD eXchange, a one-day conference jam-packed with talks, open-space discussions and brainstorming about the latest innovative ideas, tools and practices in Agile Testing and BDD. You can see the full program here!
A distinguishing characteristic of a Skills Matter conference is their insistence on ‘quality time’ between experts and delegates alike. These conferences are community events where passionate professionals – that often already know each other virtually – can actually meet and mingle, exchange ideas and appropriate practices, and fortify their ties as well as the ideas they advocate.
In addition to all the folks listed in the conference description, I am also sharing my thoughts on how teams can use business value in their conversations to arrive at several decisions they face on a day to day basis. I cover three types of questions:
- Is it worth it? – which makes use of the Business Value Model that Pollyanna, Todd, Niel, and I wrote about in Stand Back and Deliver
- How much should we build? – which makes use of Feature Injection, originally devised by Chris Matts
- How unique should it be? – which makes use of the Purpose Based Alignment Model, also from Stand Back and Deliver.
If you are interested in what I’m talking about, I’ve listed some info about the conference below. You can also check out the presentation, Business Value Is a Conversation, Not a Number (but you won’t get all the context just looking at the slides).
